Take a closer look.

March 2020

Landscape Survey.

7 days / 7 landscapes / 7 mile radius.

A documentary of the landscape. Surrounding the Calder & Spen Valley Greenway. A sustainable transport route set up and managed by Sustrans; a charitable organisation that builds cycle routes and works with communities.

The formal elements of visual recording are used as a ‘road map’ to further a journey through the landscape.

Index cards join neatly to make a strip. Line, tone, texture and colour. The panoramic form lends itself to length (distance from A to B) as an archive of the journey that was taken, whilst cycling to observational points.

The elements of VISUAL RECORDING are:
Line / Shape / Colour / Texture / Tone / Form / Space / Depth / Pattern
